When a child is born, most attention naturally goes to health, routines, and adjusting to a new life at home. In the middle of all this, paperwork and financial setup often get pushed aside. But the first few months are actually the easiest time to take care of these things. The process is simpler, and getting a few basics right early can save a lot of effort later.
In India, there is a clear flow if you look at it practically. It starts with birth records, then moves to identity documents, followed by banking and investments. The key is not to rush through everything, but to do things in the right order. One document leads to another, and having the basics in place makes everything else smoother.
I wrote the list below for a friend of mine. Posting it here in case it helps another parent-to-be.
